Sponsorships
Each year, we invest into the community through sponsorships to local nonprofits, schools, and social service providers who are working to improve the health of our community.
Prior to submitting a sponsorship request, we recommend reviewing the Frequently Asked Questions section below as this can provide insight on eligibility, sponsorship ranges, and as well as evaluation criteria.

Sponsorship Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. What types of activities or events does Healthy Petaluma sponsor?
Healthy Petaluma typically sponsors community-based events, programs, or initiatives that align with our mission to advance health and well-being in southern Sonoma County. This can include health fairs, cultural events, youth programs, educational campaigns, fundraising events, and more.
2. Who is eligible to apply for sponsorship?
Nonprofit organizations, community-based groups, and governmental agencies operating within Healthy Petaluma’s service area are eligible to apply. Sponsorships are not typically available to individuals or for-profit entities.
3. Can an organization receive both a General Operating Support (GOS) Grant and a Sponsorship in the same fiscal year?
Healthy Petaluma generally does not expect to award both a General Operating Support Grant and a Sponsorship to the same organization within a single fiscal year, since both programs provide flexible support. Our goal is to share resources broadly and equitably across the community.
However, in some cases we may consider both — for example, if a GOS grantee also hosts a community event that offers meaningful visibility and engagement opportunities for Healthy Petaluma, or if there is a unique initiative that closely aligns with our strategic priorities. In these situations, sponsorship requests will be evaluated carefully alongside existing grant support.
4. What is the typical range of sponsorship funding available?
Sponsorship amounts generally range from $250 to $5,000 depending on the scope and alignment of the event with Healthy Petaluma’s priorities.
5. What criteria are used to evaluate sponsorship requests?
We consider the following:
• Alignment with Healthy Petaluma’s strategic plan, mission, and priorities
• Reach and impact of the event, program, or activity
• Opportunities for community engagement
• Visibility and recognition opportunities
• Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles
• Geographic relevance to our service area
6. Are there any events or organizations that are not eligible for sponsorship?
Yes. Healthy Petaluma typically does not sponsor:
• Political campaigns or lobbying activities
• Fundraisers for individuals
• Religious events (unless broadly inclusive and community-serving)
• Activities that fall outside of our service area or that do not benefit residents or stakeholders in our service area
7. Do I need to acknowledge Healthy Petaluma publicly if I receive a sponsorship?
We do ask that all sponsorship recipients recognize Healthy Petaluma in event materials, signage, websites, and/or social media.
8. Can I apply for multiple sponsorships in one year?
Organizations may submit multiple requests in a fiscal year, but funding is limited and repeat requests are evaluated based on past performance and the entirety of the community need.
9. How do I apply for sponsorship?
You can apply by submitting our Sponsorship Request Form, which is located on the Healthy Petaluma website at the top of this page.
