At Healthy Petaluma, we are advocates for the health and well-being of everyone in southern Sonoma County. We're dedicated to improving the health of our community through program funding, targeted initiatives, direct services, and our extensive relationships with other organizations. We work with Petaluma Valley Hospital’s operator to ensure continued local access to acute and emergency health care services.
Healthy Petaluma is here to serve all members of our diverse community. We’re always looking for innovative ways to use our influence, expertise, and resources to improve the lives of everyone in southern Sonoma County. Healthy Petaluma is working to make southern Sonoma County a place where everyone has access to equitable health and wellness services. As a community-owned and -operated public agency, we've been dedicated to ensuring Petaluma has access to a quality acute care hospital with emergency services and fostering a healthier community for over 75 years.
What We Do
Healthy Petaluma is here for you. We’re here to listen to the people and organizations of southern Sonoma County to identify the community's health and wellness needs, so we can foster more equitable access to health and wellness services. We’re here to bring community partners together to take action – whether it be developing policies, providing a new service, or working for changes that will improve the overall health of our community. We work with Petaluma Valley Hospital operator to seek compliance with its obligations under the hospital Asset Purchase Agreement.

Blue Zones PrOJECT
We have launched the local Blue Zones Project Petaluma as part of a global movement that has improved health and well-being for entire communities and cities. This new way of thinking and working will enhance the places we live, work, learn, and play.

Bringing together residents, businesses, and local organizations to address key community health priorities.
HealthQuest CPR
HealthQuest CPR is your one-stop shop for all your training and AED needs. As an authorized American Heart Association training center, HealthQuest CPR provides CPR, AED, and First Aid training and certification along with selling and distributing AEDs, replacement parts and maintenance plans for existing or new AEDs within your organization.
HeartSafe Community
HeartSafe Community is a program led by Healthy Petaluma to strengthen our community’s response to cardiac emergencies. HeartSafe Community helps businesses, schools, and other organizations become prepared to respond to cardiac emergencies.
Community Health Worker Program
Healthy Petaluma’s CHWs directly engage with southern Sonoma County community members to address the needs of people who are at greater risk for poor health outcomes through health education, messaging, and resource navigation.

DEVELOPMENT OF HEALTHY PETALUMA DISTRICT & FOUNDATION-OWNED PROPERTY
The Healthy Petaluma District and Foundation is seeking development proposals from qualified firms for the opportunity to develop District-owned property at the northwest corner of McDowell Boulevard and Lynch Creek Way in Petaluma, CA.
2024 General Election
Healthy Petaluma transitioned from an at-large election system, where directors are elected by voters of the entire District, to a by zone election process, consisting of five zones, commending with the November 2024 elections.
How to Get Involved
As a public agency, we encourage our community to get involved in our work and there are many opportunities to do so. Attend a Healthy Petaluma Board meeting, which dedicates time for public comments to ensure the voices of our community are heard. Join CHIPA, a cross sector collaborative focused on addressing specific community health priorities. Become engaged in our Blue Zones Transformational project.
